Ceramacist

Self employed sculptor, potter and educator 1980 - present. Sold art work at numerous art fairs and gallery shows over many years. Changed from wheel thrown pottery to hand built sculpture in 2002

Teaching

University of New Mexico, Continuing Education Division "Pottery on the Wheel and Raku Firing" 1988 - 1999. "Hand building with Clay" 1990 - 1999, and class lessons taught privately 1986 to 1999. Private studio teaching in Chico, California 1999 - present. Chico Art Center 2003 to present.

Education

University of New Mexico

Bachelor of University Studies, 1988. Course work included over 35 hours Ceramic Studio in Art Education and Fine Arts, resulting in proficiency in the use of raku, porcelain, stoneware and earthenware. Developed distinctive throwing style which mainly utilizes Japanese and Spanish techniques for pieces "off the hump". This style is simple, effective and basic. Produced more than thirty thousand pots using this method.
